Physical Description: 5’9; 152lbs. Has a slight runner’s build to him though it isn’t much of a build. He does wear glasses.
Personality Overview: Sarcastic, witty, though this has to be brought out of him. Is sometimes shy it depends on what kind of situation he is in.
When he is right he tends to be very outspoken about it.
Ambition: Running his own Starfleet Corps of Engineers ship and team someday.
Interest: Reading novels from other cultures, reading engineering journals and tinkering with his restoration project to keep making continual improvements. Tends to try out said tinkering first on the holodeck.
Archean was born on Chronister II in the year of 2334. Archean was a third generation colonist. Chronister II was a star system located about 70 light years away from Earth.
The time he spent on Chronister II was a time well spent for him he learned and grew though he wasn’t that much of a fan of physical activities, he was able to enjoy games of the mind much more.
As being the middle child of 7 children he was well known as the peacemaker between the conflicting siblings on both ends. His family ran a spaceport which had been started when his family had moved there over a hundred years before.
He enjoyed working at the spaceport because it exposed him to many cultures and since Chronister II was near the Cardassian border by Federation space he was able to pick up plenty of culturally enriching experiences. These experiences also allowed him to know what career he wanted out of life and that was of an Engineer.
His family supported him initially thinking that he would attend a educational program like: The Regulus III Science Academy and then come back to work at the spaceport.
When his actual desires came out that he had applied and was accepted to Starfleet Academy his family, his father especially. Turned on him for they viewed Starfleet has a meddlesome, warmongering organization that messed up the family business.
So with his bags packed for him and his family collectively shutting him out he boarded a transport to Earth.
The years in the academy had a couple of rough spots for him. Though in the end he finished with good marks and was invited to attend a Doctoral program at the academy in lieu of taking a starship assignment. He graciously accept the offer and literally dove into his studies ignoring the outside world.
When he was finished he was commissioned as a Lt. (j.g.) And was assigned as the assistant Chief Engineer aboard the U.S.S. Rutledge at Starbase 285 in 2359.
While aboard the Rutledge he made some really good friends who had in fact shown him life outside of Warp Plasma Conduits and fusion reactors. What they had shown him was how to do karaoke in the ship’s lounge after hours something that he found strange though he did remind himself humans were strange after all.
About a year into his assignment aboard the Rutledge he had been sent a message from the Trill Symbiosis Commission, which stated to him that he would be asked to return to Trill a place he had never been to start training for the potential to be able to get a Trill Symbiont. This news excited and thrilled him he had applied his last year in the academy hoping that he could get in and now it was realized.
He applied for leave though he couldn’t state the reason why due to the secrecy behind symbionts. So he requested extended leave for personal reasons on the condition that if he was gone for very long his position would be filled and was warned that by leaving this soon into his career that he could be stunting his career. He left in the middle of the year 2361.
The time he spent on Trill was worthwhile. He managed to barely get by in his training and it was only by a small miracle that he had been given a very decent field docent. Whom had granted him the great honor of hosting a symbiont himself if he so chose.
Though due to the backlog of applicants that had successfully applied and were granted the ability to have a symbiont he was placed on call for one. This did in a sense irk him though there was nothing he could do about it so he was able to successfully return to Starfleet in 2363.
As his next posting he was assigned the U.S.S. Saratoga as its Chief Engineer, the previous Engineer having retired right along the same time that Arc had reapplied to come back from extended leave. The ship and crew of the Saratoga were different though not in a bad sense. He was able to gain new insight being with a different crew than with those aboard the Kyushu. And he did in fact start a karaoke night in the ship’s mess, where they played everything except for human music which made for some very entertaining Klingon music sing-alongs.
It was also aboard the Saratoga that he started a restoration project in his downtime. He had found a small ship that was the size of a Type-6 shuttlecraft at the Qualor II depot that he had managed to secure and was slowly rebuilding it with parts that he was slowly collecting. In about two years he had all but finished restoring the shuttle sized ship.
The good times for him were about to come to an end though in a very tragic fashion, the Cardassians had attacked his home planet, more specifically they had targeted every spaceport and his family’s spaceport was no exception. The Cardassians when they were finished left very little of the spaceport.
He at once requested leave and proceeded back home, which thankfully the Saratoga was only several light-years away. After getting home in about a day of the message that he had received he spent the next month helping his remaining siblings: an older brother and two younger sisters rebuild the spaceport using his engineering talents to do so.
It was toward the end of his month long leave that he had heard about the horrific battle at Wolf 359 and sure enough within days after the failed battle he had been recalled from his leave and ordered to his next assignment.
Though he was given enough time to make it to his assignment he bid adieu to his siblings and his family and left his home and flew to Earth for the Wolf 359 memorial to help honor the crewmates he had lost aboard the Saratoga. The loss of the fleet in general was horrible and he knew that there would be plenty requesting counseling. He for the most part was okay…though he would rather avoid seeing a counselor at all costs he didn’t want to revisit the pain that was boiling beneath the surface he would rather bury that pain.
Soon enough time came for him to board his assignment with a heavy heart his only hope is that he would not allow his grief to get the best of him.
