PERSONAL INFORMATION:

Physical Description: 6’2”, 146 lbs., with mild curves and a slender build. Her hair is long and brown, typically styled into waves, and her bright blue eyes are almost always open wide with an excited and curious energy.

Personality Overview: A quiet woman who believes in actions over words, Stephanie is a generally silent optimist who keeps to her own business but is always willing to help out someone in need. She’ll often jump into action without consulting her peers, and while she’s generally skilled enough in her job to be able to handle the consequences, she’s willing to admit that her own eagerness and preference for immediate action has had some unpleasant results in the past. Steph is also excessively loyal, and is entirely dedicated to her crew, Starfleet, her family back home and both spouses.

Ambitions: Steph wants to have her own command one day, but she’s decided to sit back and thoroughly prove her worth before pursuing that end too aggressively.

Interests: Archery, martial arts (particularly Krav Maga and Judo), freerunning, and comedic theatre.

History:

A Liverpool native born to a pair of teachers, Stephanie Danvers was always a stubbornly independent child who spoke very little with her words and volumes with her actions. Despite average at best grades and little in the way of social interaction thanks to her silent, self-imposed isolation, she was a fantastically active kid who enjoyed every solo physical activity she could get into. Her two early loves were free running through the parkour courses maintained in the older sections of Liverpool, and carrying on a tradition of archery that had been in her family since the Middle Ages. A mild interest in martial arts developed as she grew older, one that helped push her over the edge and settle on a career path that involved a maximum amount of physical activity.

One of her few friends throughout primary school was a girl by the name of Candice Walters, a fellow freerunning enthusiast who became Steph’s girlfriend by the end of their first year in secondary school. During the middle of their second year, Candice admitted that she had been feeling attracted to several other students and even tempted to cheat on her partner; rather than reacting with anger, Stephanie appreciated Candy’s honesty and agreed to declare that they had an open relationship, on the condition that both girls had to be entirely honest about anyone else they happened to be seeing. The relationship thrived from that point on, remaining open to any sort of polyamorous behavior even after their graduation and subsequent marriage–a union that was, to Stephanie, more a declaration of a permanent commitment rather than an agreement of exclusivity.

Steph entered Starfleet Academy shortly after her marriage, pursuing a career in Security where she would be able to go exploring while also ensuring the plethora of physical action that she craved. Candy chose to move to California with her wife and attend UC Berkeley at the same time, pursuing her own planned career in surgery. While the distance presented a difficulty in maintaining their relationship, having someone to return home to every weekend helped keep both women sane and motivated during their harrowing four years of education. Upon finishing Starfleet Academy and earning her commission, Stephanie was able to get an assignment as a security officer on the USS Avalon, a vessel assigned to basic patrol duties in Sector 001, in order to stay close to Candy as she worked her way through med school.

Four years later and with a newly minted doctor for a wife, Stephanie was reassigned to the USS Carolina, an Ambassador-class cruiser that saw repeated action in ongoing skirmishes with the Cardassians. These bouts of light combat proved to be a brilliant place for Stephanie to prove her skill both on the ground with a phaser and at the tactical controls of a starship, quickly netting her both a bump up in the ranks and a promotion up to the Chief Tactical/Security Officer by the mid-60’s. During her time on board, she also met one Jeremy Carter, a civilian engineer assigned to the ship who charmed Stephanie into her first truly significant relationship since marrying-occasional flings and brief lovers notwithstanding-resulting in her eventual second marriage to Jeremy in 2365.

The next year she was assigned to the USS T’Pau, another Ambassador-class typically assigned to more truly exploratory missions at the other end of the Federation. This assignment, however, proved to be short-lived thanks to the disaster at Wolf 359 and the subsequent shakeups in crew assignments all over Starfleet. Stephanie, suddenly proving to be one of the better available Security officers in the fleet, was quickly pulled off of the T’Pau and reassigned to the USS Navajo, while Candice came with her to provide her surgical expertise and Jeremy took an assignment at Jupiter station working on new holographic systems.
